Paramount Star Trek Tricorder

One of Andrew Stockdale's favorite projects was the fully functional tricorder from Star Trek. Andrew travelled to meet with Greg Jein and carefully measure and scan the original hero prop from Greg's collection. As a fan, he was excited to explore some of Greg's other collectibles at the same time and chat about some of Greg's work as a modelmaker.

Now with precise reference material, Andrew was able to create new geometry that was accurate to the orignal whilst also being able to be manufactured at volume. This was an intense project, taking feedback from previous The Wand Compamy products to ensure that none of the issues fans had previously encountered (such as irrepairable battery failure) would happen again. This project involved multiple trips to China to work closely with the factory. Andrew also presented the prototype tricorder at Destination Star Trek in London, and also at San Diego Comic Con 2024. This was an important project for Andrew, bringing potentially the most iconic and best prop replica ever created into fans' hands.
